Fancy meeting a legend of racing, on both two wheels and four? Here’s your chance……

Even though the F1 calendar fires back into life on the first weekend of September at Spa, there are still classic car and bike shows going on around the country, but in a place called Burpham, there will be one with a huge significance, and don’t forget to put Sunday, September 2nd in your diary, as this is an opportunity of a F1 fan’s lifetime, myself included.

I was recently contacted by the Burpham Motor Racing Club, which you can follow on Twitter @BurphamMRClub, who will be hosting their annual Classic Car and Bike Show, which will have a wide variety of activities for all ages, and really bring back those years of ‘Nostalgia”, when iconic racing machinery of both two and four-wheel categories will be there for all to see, plus the chance to meet John Surtees in person.

This event will also include a very special collection of John Surtees’ racing cars and bikes from his successes in both discplines, both as a racer, as well as team owner, not to mention a limited ticket event, entitled “John Surtees in Conversation”, which focuses on John’s amazing racing career, and will be chaired by Editor of Motor Sport, Damien Smith, which will also include an autograph session.

There is also another talk, which will be available on the day, is that of a well-revered writer, who has motorsport journalism as part of his eclectic background, being none other than Alan Henry, who has also written over 50 motorsport-related books and has edited several magazines in his long-spanning career.

To book your places on these talks, which will be raising money for the Henry Surtees Foundation, please contact the BMRC on info@thebmrc.com to reserve your place now, before it’s too late. It seems as if these talks will provide a wonderful insight into days gone by, as well as an honest opinion on what is currently happening in all forms of motorsport.

To find out more about this wonderful event, which I will be reporting on for Richland F1, make sure that you visit their official website at www.thebmrc.com, and take a day trip out………. one you won’t forget in a hurry…….
