Video: Vettel completes first laps of Sochi F1 circuit
Sebastian Vettel became the first Formula 1 driver to test the all-new Sochi circuit on Monday.
Vettel, driving an Infiniti road car in a promotional event, completed several laps of the circuit which will play host to the inaugural Formula 1 Russian Grand Prix this October.
The Herman Tilke designed circuit – based around the Sochi Olympic Park that played host to this year’s Winter Olympics – was signed off for its first ever F1 race by the FIA’s Charlie Whiting earlier this month.
“Having driven the full circuit for the first time… today, it’s an interesting layout with a good mix of high-speed corners and technical sections,” said Vettel.
“It’s going to be a huge challenge in a Formula 1 car and I’m really looking forward to coming back in October.”
