The Williams FW36, with its newly launched Martini livery, will feature the 20th Anniversary Ayrton Senna logo in 2014.
It will replace the Senna ‘S’ logo, which has adorned the nosecone of every Williams F1 car since the Brazilian driver’s tragic death at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, and will feature a picture of the three-time champion alongside the words “Ayrton Senna Always”.
It was designed by the Ayrton Senna Foundation and will be used during various events organised by the Foundation to honour Senna. The logo will be placed on the left hand side of the FW36’s nose cone.
“I was very close to Ayrton and the iconic double S logo has been a mainstay on our cars since his death 20 years ago,” said team principal and founder Frank Williams.
“This new logo is our way of celebrating his achievements as a racing driver, and also the sterling work of his Foundation which is doing so much to promote educational opportunities in Brazil.”
Williams also announced on Friday that it has partnered up with male lifestyle magazine Esquire. The one-year partnership will see the magazine’s logo appear on the rear wing endplate of the team’s 2014 machine.
