Caterham to launch 2014 car at Jerez
The Leafield-based outfit announced on their Twitter account that they will unveil their latest challenger on the morning of the first day of winter testing, at the Jerez circuit in Spain on January 28th.
However, their 2014 driver line-up has yet to be confirmed. 2013 drivers Charles Pic and Giedo van der Garde remain in the mix, with Kamui Kobayashi being heavily linked with a drive at the team. Heikki Kovalainen and last year’s reserve driver Alexander Rossi are also in the running.
McLaren and Mercedes both confirmed their launch dates yesterday. The former will take the covers off the MP4-29 on January 24th, with the new ‘Silver Arrows’ debuting on the morning of the first test day in Jerez.
The team also announced in the post that they will be attending all three pre-season tests, unlike rivals Lotus who will miss the opening four days of testing to further develop the E22.
