Bianchi only had one strike next to his name going in to the Korean Grand Prix weekend. However he was handed a reprimand on Saturday for holding up Paul di Resta during qualifying and was given another one after the 55 lap race for failing to slow for yellow flags.
Charles Pic was also handed his second reprimand of the weekend for the same offense, the first being for missing a weighbridge call during Friday practice. With it also being his third reprimand of the season, both drivers were handed 10-place grid penalties for Japan.
Whilst it won’t make too much difference to their overall grid position, Pic’s penalty will be applied first as he was the first to commit the offense.
Stewards were busy after the Korean Grand Prix with plenty of incidents to look over. Max Chilton and Giedo van der Garde were both given reprimands, their first of the season, for speeding behind the safety car whilst there was no further action taken on the incident between Sergio Perez and Felipe Massa.
Adrian Sutil also avoided punishment for colliding with Mark Webber after losing control at turn three. Explaining their decision the stewards said: “The Stewards noted that the driver of car 15 did not brake later than the drivers around him. His brakes locked causing him to lose control.”
