Spa-Francorchamps is, for many, the highlight of the Formula One season. The legendary circuit has witnessed many a spectacle over the years and the stage is set for a thrilling race this time around.
Lewis Hamilton stormed to pole position yesterday in a very tight qualifying session that saw the weather change constantly. In fact, Paul di Resta appeared to have pole in the bag for Force India after gambling on dry tyres when the rest of the field pitted for intermediates at the beginning of Q3. Of these runners, Nico Rosberg was initially the only driver who could top di Resta’s time, but a dramatic change in the weather meant that Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton were all able to go faster. Ultimately, it was Hamilton who claimed his fourth consecutive pole position by just 0.2 seconds.
