It is unclear when that will be but Sirotkin’s manager did confirm last month that the Russian will run in “some free practice sessions” during the second half of the 2013 season.
Sirotkin was announced as Sauber’s new protege last month, when the team also revealed three new Russian investors – including the International Institute of Aviation Technologies led by his father.
He currently sits ninth in the Formula Renault 3.5 series with three rounds remaining and a best finish of second place at Motorland Aragon in Spain.
Discussing the visit to Hinwil, Sirotkin’s manager is quoted by Russian media saying: “During the visit scheduled for August 20-22, Sergey will get acquainted with the team’s personnel, its technical equipment and F1 car.”
Earlier in the week Sauber rubbished rumours that the Russian investment deal was falling apart, confirming that Sirotkin’s contract was in place and preparations for his “involvement” in the team would “start next week” following the summer break period.
