Allison to Ferrari?
Ex-Lotus Technical Director James Allison is set to join Ferrari for 2014.
AUTOSPORT have revealed that Allison, who left Lotus in May, is set to re-join the Scuderia, where he spent five successful years, between 2000 and 2004, before departing for Renault, where he stayed until earlier this year.
While Allison was widely expected to return to Ferrari he has been linked with a number of top teams since departing from Lotus.
Due to his current contract situation it is believed that Allison will not start work at Ferrari until 2014, as he serves what is known as ‘gardening leave’.
While Allison’s job title has not been confirmed, it is expected that he will work alongside current Ferrari Technical Director Pat Fry, as the Maranello based squad chase their first title since 2008.
Ferrari are yet to confirm Allison’s appointment, but it is expected to follow this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix.
