Have to agree with Seb on this firstly safety but these tyres due to the FIA’s directions are rubbish the teams cant truly race, the great MS told all you guys last year they were crap but everyone thought he was whining about not having a great return to F1 this is sooo not the case and last years tyres were supposedly better than the 2013 tyres

Honda can leverage their considerable R&D with McLaren quite well in a comeback and, quite frankly, next year’s engine homologations are anything but the same “basic design”. Chassis designers will have their work cut out for them. I see big potential for the engine manufacturer’s return and in re-forming a legendary partnership.

Pirelli PR using the 4 stop argument to cover the fact it has issues with failures that require correction is now backfiring. Pirelli set the stage to toss Red Bull under the bus on this, which Ferrari and Lotus fell for. Now they’ve backed themselves into a corner with the FIA. They’ll have to fix the failure issues without the cover of responding to team complaints now. Could the mention of reverting to 2012 and 2011 construction indicate the 2013 addition of a steel belt is a failure they’d like to move away from? In any case, the tires are junk. While coming apart may not be “unsafe” (seriously?), it’s hardly what the FIA intended, unless it has gone completely off the rails.

Not sure who “Almost everyone” is. Most probably really don’t care that much whether or not Honda is back again, again. Its easy to miss that they will also not be entering a field chopped up among a mix of formats, or suppliers they can dominate with their giant engineering army, like they had before. It’s all one spec now, and the challenge isn’t who can create an innovative design, but who can squeeze the most from the same basic design everyone else is working with. That is not a game Honda plays well at, and why they struggled before. The ’09 Brawn car was great once it was freed of the noncompetitive Honda lump. The Merc made that car great. Moving from Merc to Honda is a huge gamble for McLaren.

It’s McLaren who should be embarrassed about Button’s constant crying. Gone are the days when Hamilton extracted all he could out of a bad car and still praised everyone in the pits and factory for putting in 110%. But then Button’s never been a team player. Ask Frank Williams who he screwed twice or Honda and Brawn who had to rely on Barrichello to push the development envelope while Jenson reaped the rewards and cashed his paychecks without a thought for the team.
